• Game Format
  • The total number of tryout games will be determined by the number of registered players and the number of teams required.
  • All tryout games will be 60–75 minutes in length and officiated by two referees.
  • Final schedule will be set after the July 15th registration deadline.

• Selection Process
  • All players are guaranteed to participate in two (2) tryout games prior to the first roster reduction.
  • Following the initial games, rosters will be reduced to approximately:
    • 17–19 forwards
    • 10–12 defence
    • X Goalies (number to be determined by registration number and scores)
      • All goalies participate in the dedicated goalie skills and small-area games session(s)
      • Scores from these session will count toward both the U13AA and regular U13 team selection processes
  • Players advancing beyond the first reduction will participate in one (1) to two (2) additional tryout games.
  • Final game - Coach Pick Game
    • Prior to the Coach Pick Game, the Tryout Committee will lock the following players onto the U13AA roster based on their tryout rankings:
      • Up to the top 6 Forwards
      • Up to the top 4 Defence
      • Up to the top 1 Goalie
    • The next 6-8 ranked Forwards and 6 ranked Defence will be identified to the Head Coach as available to “pick”
    • Following the completion of the Coach Selection Game, the U13AA Head Coach will make the roster selections from the eligible “pick” players to balance out the final team formation of
      • 9 Forwards
      • 6 Defence
      • 2 Goalies

There is no appeal process or exit interview/review for U13 AA tryouts. All roster decisions made by the evaluation committee and the Head Coach throughout the tryouts are final.
